Ponderosa Hearth and Home came into being in December of 1989 when a stove manufacturer decided not to try any further to meet the new Environmental Protection Agency regulations for cleanburning wood stoves and inserts.
The service company that David and Dianne Cloyd started in 1982 had outgrown its space at the house and a retail store was in the future anyway, so it began. Out of the ashes of a failed wood stove store and a closing manufacturer rose Ponderosa Hearth and Home. The store has very deep roots in chimney care and maintenance here in the Clovis/Fresno area and we have added the highest standard of customer service you can find. The growth in popularity of pellet and gas appliances has brought a new dimension to our service department.
Ponderosa Hearth & Home has a contractor's license that covers the installation of the units that we carry in the store. As the technology of the wood, pellet and gas stoves and inserts has improved, so has the education of our service people. The Sweeps and Ponderosa Hearth and Home take pride in our customer service.
